Spain is situated to the south west of Europe and shares the Iberian peninsula with Portugal and Gibraltar is home to some 40 million inhabitants and from the southern tip of Costa del sol you can see Africa.
Spain became a member of the eu club in 1986 as in the past spain was one of the poorer members and benefited greatly from eu funding but now adays is a different story due to the 10 new members which have joined in recent years.
Spain has a economic growth rate of around 3.5% a year but inflation is also 3.5% has an unemployment of over 10 million.
Spain has become the sunshine state of Europe many northern european including the British and the Irish and migrated there and go the on holiday,many parts are greatly dominated by British like costa del sol.
There are also many other northern Europeans buying up property for investment or just to have a place in the sun as in northern Europe the climate is cold in November December January time you can still walk about in shorts in southern spain and enjoy Christmas on holiday in the sun.
Property price have cooled a bit but have been growing at a rate of 14% a year gone are the days of cheap property in spain although you can still pick up a bargain more in the rural areas.
Spanish are mainly catholic and they take there religion very seriously if you ever turned up in spain on a sunday and just need some milk bread you might have to travel away to find a shop open as most things shut down in spain on sunday.
It even has a ski resort about 2 hours out of costa del sol called sierra Nevada driving through this area is very beautiful and never really gets the credit it is worth a great holiday destination.
