German Cultura Calendar

What i like most about German Cultural events is that the calendar is fully loaded with annual fairs, festivals, concerts and parties.

In January, Fasching is celebrated. It is a bawdy kind of six-week-long extravaganza of street parties and balls.

February, The Berlinale (Berlin International Film Festival), the world’s second largest, is held in February.

March, Lent comes to an end in March with Starkbierzeit, a time for quaffing strong brews.

April, April sees Festage (Festival Days) a host of gala concerts and operas held over 10 days. Also, April is the time for a mini Oktoberfest known as Fruhlingsfest.

June, The Munich Film Festival is held June. Which is a delight to all movie lovers.

July, Christopher Street Day in July is a three day gay fest and is celebrated with wild street parties. Its full of Sex, Booze and naked Gay and Lesbians out on a freak show.

August, features JazzFest Berlin, A musical extravaganza which is a must go for music lovers.

Oktoberfest, the world’s premier pub bash, is held, surprisingly, in September.

So this was a small Guide to the Life and cultural activities of Germany.
